A few of my favorite things

I'm taking a cues from a fellow blogging momma friend and I'm going to list a few baby items that I love! These aren't listed in any particular order, just however they're coming to my foggy mind...

Fisher-Price EZ Bundle 4-in-1 Baby System

Specifically I'm talking about the infant swing feature since we haven't used it for any of the other options (newborn seat, high chair, toddler seat) at this point. I'm not necessarily saying this is the best swing on the market because I don't know, but it's what we're using and it works great for us! Anyway, it's great for times - like this very moment - when Auria is sleepy, but wants to be held. The movement is what she really wants so I can strap her in the swing and she'll usually doze off and Mommy can get something done around the house a little more quickly.

Halo SleepSack® Swaddle

The first week, more specifically the first couple of days, of Auria's life, she was constantly wrapped up - swaddled - like a little baby burrito. We didn't carry that on for very long because she loves to suck on her hands and I didn't want to keep her from being able to do that BUT we were having some issues with adjusting her sleep schedule and some mommy friends suggested we start swaddling again... SOOO helpful! You can swaddle a baby with a receiving blanket just fine but you have to wrap them up extra good and tight if they're as squirmy as my baby girl. Anyway I really like this sleepsak swaddler because it's just so much easier to get her swaddled and she stays that way!

The First Years Close & Secure Baby Sleeper

For me, this goes hand in hand with the sleeper sack... she will not let us put her down on her back unless she is swaddled! Anyhoo, I know people have different opinions on this subject but we are co-sleepers! A friend of mine told me about this awesome little thing and I just think it's great! I would absolutely recommend it to any new parents that intend to try co-sleeping.

Moby Wrap

I'm a huge advocate of baby wearing and I just think this is one of the most amazing things ever! It's one size fits all, it's so simple to wrap, you can throw it in the washing machine when you need to, it's super comfy for mommy & baby... I think every mommy should have a Moby! Plus, when Auria is a little older, how precious is this Moby mini?!

I can just imagine us now... by the time she's playing with dolls, I'll probably have a new little baby and we can wear our Moby's together! Tehehe :)

Graco Alano FlipIt Travel System Stroller - Wilko

The original appeal of this particular travel system for me was the reversible handle system and so far I love everything else about this system too! The stroller is sturdy, but not too heavy, the wheels turn on a dime and it's smooth like butta, the handle level adjusts, which is good when you're 5'3" and your husband is 6'3"! There's even a handy dandy cup holder that is removable (which comes is more convenient than you realize)! Ooh and the car seat fits perfectly into any stores shopping cart seat.... well, except for Hobby Lobby's micro-carts!

Leg Warmers

Not only are these adorable, but they make diaper changes so much faster! Baby gowns used to be my #1 fav, and I still love them, but the leg warmers have knocked gowns down to the number 2 spot.
BTW, for mommy's of baby boys, they do make leg warmers for boys too and some of them are awesome!

Okay the last item I'm going to mention today is:
Baby Socks - Old Navy/Gap

This information I'm sharing is more valuable than you think! Until you're trying to keep your baby's feet warm you don't think much about socks and how well they'll actually stay on and from my experience most of them don't! Plus, for some reason many of them come in size 0-6 months. What an extremely broad range! Tell me how that makes sense! Anyway I love baby socks from Old Navy/Gap because they come in 0-3 months, 3-6, & 6-12, etc. Also they have a nice elastic in the top that actually hold the socks securely on baby's feet... even super slender ones, like my baby girl's!

Alright well that's that and as Auria grows & changes I'm sure so shall this list, so stay posted I guess ;)

  1. I LOVE the leg warmers...and the moby thing too! I am definitely getting one whenever we have baby #2. I was given a baby bjorn and really loved it...so simple to use and was easy on my back. BUT one of my mommy friends told me about how the moby type of baby wearing is so much easier on their joints (like their hips). So I'll def be trying that thing out! Let me ask you...can you put a Peyton size kid in there to wear on your hip? I have seen some mommas carrying around older babies on the side. That would be helpful too! :)

  2. Yeah I've heard great things about the baby bjorn and I thought about getting one of those but I decided to try the moby first to see how I liked it and it ended up working out fabulously for us. I have one mommy friend that said her baby preferred the baby bjorn to the moby though.

This is what's on their website:
"Moby Wraps can hold babies up to 35lbs, which is typically a 3 year old child."
I can bring mine to church and you can try it out with Peyton if you'd like!

  3. Girl that'd be awesome! Sorry, I don't check back for comments...neither on my own blog nor others! :) Glad to see your CD journey is going so well! You're motivating me more and more to go the cd route with this baby #2. :)
