Momma Q

Hi, I'm Corri, and I'm the one behind this amazing blog :p

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME:

I'm 25 and I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. When I was a teenager I wanted to move away from here but as I've gotten older I've come to really love and appreciate this weird city and I'll probably never leave.

My parents divorced before I was 2 so I grew up going back and forth (and back, and forth, and back, and forth...) between my parents homes. My parents both re-married (within 2 months of each other) and my first two siblings arrived - one to each parent - when I was about 12 (born just 4 months apart). [I now have three brothers and one sister]
I feel like that's important to mention because I think maybe that helps explain why I turned out this way. Not that the way I turned out isn't totally awesome, I'm just saying... If you're ever like "That Corri, she's a little different.".... maybe you'll have a little grace for me ;)

Seriously though, because of the way I grew up, I couldn't wait to get married and start a family of my own. I longed for the day that I would get married and have my very own house -- where all of my stuff was ALL of the time. Also, since I was little, all I can remember wanting to be when I grew up was a mommy!

So that's where we are now. I'm married and a first-time mommy!!!
And this is my story!

WHERE DID THE "Q" COME FROM?

Obviously Corri doesn't begin with a "Q" and, as far as you're concerned, the title of this blog doesn't make sense.
After I explain where the "Q" comes from you still may not think it makes sense but here's the story anyway...

Because of my heritage (my mom is 1/2 Korean & 1/2 French-Canadian... and my dad is just an American dude) I am often referred to as the "Korean" or "Asian" girl among my friends. I'm okay with that, and I embrace that part of my family history, but I'm pretty sure the Koreans wouldn't count my 1/4 for anything. So, when we first started dating, Josh - the self proclaimed "king of nicknames" - dubbed me "Quarter". Get it?
[I'll wait a second in case you need time for that to sink in........]

Alright, there you have it. I know it's not necessarily a great story but I never really had a nickname before. Sure, there was that phase in middle school when I spelled my name with a "K" -- and to this day I'm pretty sure most people who met me during that time are unaware of the correct spelling of my name -- but that wasn't a real nickname. There were a few people that called me "Corr" occassionally but that never really stuck either. Maybe wanting a nickname seems silly to you but to me the thought of having one seemed special and I always wanted one so I cling to this one!

I know you were probably hoping for more from this story but that's it. Basically I'm just not very clever and when it was time to come up with a name for my blog, "Q&A" was the first thing to pop into my head and I went with it. So there.
