CD Selection

Next week I'll begin my cloth diapering journey. I'm going to try different brands and styles of cd's to see which kinds work best for us. There is an overwhelming amount of choices so I'm just starting out with a few that sound good to me, for one reason or another, and we'll go from there. With that being said I figured I would document the selections I've made to start out with and why I think I will like them.

bumGenius Organic One-Size All-In-One

What I like:
- One size
*These can be adjusted to size by snaps.

- Snap fasteners
*Snap fasteners offer more security on wiggly baby.

- All-in-one
*They don't require any assembly/ stuffing, essentially making them as easy as disposables.

gDipers

What I like:
- Different sizes (gPants come in S, M, & L - liners & inserts come in S & M/L)
*Different sizes could mean better fit.

- Choice of gCloth or gRefill insert
*Having a choice of a disposable insert is nice for traveling or times when we'll be out of the house for long periods. The gRefills can be flushed, composted, or tossed in the trash.

- Snap-in liner
*Snap-in liner means you can reuse gPants

- Tabs close in back
*The fact that the tabs close in the back could be nice for when baby's hands start getting curious... she can't unfasten her own diaper.

Potential dislike:
- Different sizes
*Different sizes means having to buy more gpants, liners, and inserts as baby grows.

- Velcro closure
*Velcro closures start to wear down over time.

- Tabs close in back
*Rear closing tabs could make securing diapers on a squirmy baby more challenging.

Flip Diapers

What I like:
- One size
*These can be adjusted to size by snaps.

- Snap fasteners
*Snap fasteners offer more security on wiggly baby.

- Choice of cloth or disposable insert
*Having a choice of a disposable insert is nice for traveling or times when we'll be out of the house for long periods.

I'm getting really excited about trying out these diapers. And like I said, there are many more cd choices but I'm trying to start out with a few at a time instead of letting myself become overwhlemed and completely confused, haha!
Wish me luck...
