1 Month!

One month ago, at this time (about 7am), I had just delivered my sweet baby girl and she was snuggled up on my chest as we got to know each other from the outside! Now we're snuggled up on the couch at home and she's smiling at me as she resists succumbing to a nap :) This past month has been nothing short of magical!

Sometimes when you've spent all of your time wishing for something, it doesn't seem as great when you finally get it because you've built it up so much and there's no way it can possibly live up to your expectations.... this is not like that! I've spent my entire life waiting to become a mommy and truly motherhood is everything I'd ever dreamt and more! The amazing feeling and love being a mother brings is one of those things that you can't grasp until you experience it first hand. I had a faint idea growing up, and through my pregnancy I started to get it a little bit more, but it really hit me when she was on my chest in the delivery room and the love continues to grow more every single day!

I'm enjoying getting to know her and watching her learn new things. She has already grown so much, it's crazy! This week she has been smiling so much and we're really starting to see her personality starting to come through. It's like she's crossing over from "newborn" to "Auria"! She definitely knows her mommy's touch and voice and it makes me feel so special! And this morning when she was spending some time with her daddy before he left for work, she was smiling and cooing at him - it was so precious!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and I'm more excited than usual. I think it's just because I am extra thankful this year, for the precious gift God has blessed us with! Also, more of our family members will get to meet Auria so that's kind of exciting too! Aaaand I'm a breastfeeding momma so I'm very excited about large amounts of food all day long, lol!

Our plans for the day are to decorate the Christmas tree & get started on wrapping the Christmas presents we've bought so far. I'm thinking I probably won't be able to get away with waiting to wrap all of the gifts at one time like I normally do. I just have a feeling that I won't have a big enough stretch of time for that this year ;) That reminds me of the other thing I need to do today which is to start thinking about designs for this years Christmas cards! Guess I'm off to start being productive....
