As much as I'm hoping Auria will decide to come out on or before her E.D.D., I've had a feeling this whole pregnancy that she's probably going to be stubborn and hold out as long as possible. Still, I really hope, even if she waits til after the 26th, that she comes this month! I'm gonna just have to deal with it either way but man-o-man, I cannot wait to meet her and besides that, I do not know how my body can expand any more to accomodate her! I've been noticing (very irregular) contractions more lately and when those things are coming on I feel like my belly could burst open like a piƱata! I love when people come into the office and say "You still haven't had that baby yet?" or "You look like you're ready to pop!"... all I can think is "No kidding!".
We had our 36 week appointment on Wednesday and the report was the same as usual: Good heartbeat, head down (good girl). Most people at this stage get a cervical exam too but my midwives don't do those until 38 weeks unless you just want them to... and I did not want them to.
On one hand it could be fun to hear if I were dilated/effaced, but on the other hand it could potentially drive me to insanity. If they checked and told me I was dilated/effaced at all I might let myself think things are going to be happening sooner than later and really you can potentially maintain the same level of dilation/effacment for weeks without any progress. And if they had told me I wasn't dilated/effaced at all I probably would have felt discouraged and, again, things could change so quickly that that wouldn't necessarily the case either. So instead, here I am, knowing nothing - and it's blissful! ;)
Speaking of bliss... Auria & I have been LOVING some Caramel Apple Spice (hot or iced) from Starbucks! It's so delciously fall & we can't get enough of it! I'm so glad we've finally been having true fall weather, it's perfect and I hope it sticks around for a while!
A bunch of Josh's family is coming over this weekend to play poker and celebrate his gradutation (yay baby!). I'm really hoping we can get the first firepit of the season going & roast some marshmallows!! :) Either way we're planning on busting out our beloved popcorn maker so I'm quite excited about that too! Ooh and maybe I'll make the yummy caramel apple dip thing Missy made for my last baby shower.... oooh that was SOOOO goood!
Oh I love autumn! Especially now since it will forever represent my greatest accomplishment in life... the birth of our baby girl! :D
I'm glad your appointment went well! It's the final stretch for us both!!
